Meredith & Tyler | Green Bay, WI Wedding

This lovely winter wedding in Green Bay was such a fun day! It was a bit cold, of course, but Meredith + Tyler didn’t let that affect their day.
They got married at the beautiful venue, Olde 41, and just enjoyed the day with their favorite people!
I asked Miranda a few questions about her wedding day and shared them below!

What made you want to hire Riutta Images as your wedding photographer?

As a photographer myself, I had a very specific vision of the type of photography I wanted - Bryana's mix of classic portraiture and candid-documentary style was exactly how I wanted to remember my day. The fleeting, small moments that fill your day with personality are just as important, if not moreso, than the formal pictures - because these candid photos are packed with memory, laughter and tears - and help to “freeze a day” for years to come. Choosing the right photographer to match my style was the hardest decision of my wedding planning process- worse than picking my venue or dress! But, I know that I made the best choice!

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Meredith's favorite moment: Our first look before the ceremony started. It was so great to have a personal moment together before the rush of the day took over - I knew I would be emotional, so I was happy that only Tyler and our onlooking wedding party were there to witness that, and I could better keep my composure for the ceremony. And then because we “broke the ice" of a first look, Tyler and I were able to hide in the balcony together before the processional started. During all that downtime before the formal ceremony, I didn't have to be alone in hiding. He and I could sit and relax and discuss our day ahead.

What surprised you about your wedding day?

I was definitely surprised at how carefree I was! I am such a planner by nature, and I am not known for “letting go.” I expected my anxieties and two years of wedding-planning to get the best of me, but by the day of the wedding, I knew I had to release my expectations, be present and enjoy the day that I worked so hard to pull off! Even minor things (some members of the wedding party having the flu, or, our usher showed up with only half of his tux!) couldn't shake my good mood - whatever happens on your wedding day, there's no controlling it. And as the Bride, I knew it wasn't my JOB to control it - it was my job to be loved and supported and celebrated! I didn’t think I’d relax as good as I did, and I am proud of myself for letting loose and having the best day!

What advice would you give to other couples planning a wedding?

My best piece of advice is to pick your top wedding priorities (Do you really want a great photographer like I did? Do you really value high quality food and drink? Do you LOVE live-music? Maybe you have a very specific venue in mind?) And plan your other details around that. Making sure you budget and plan accordingly so you can make YOUR vision possible. It is YOUR special day, celebrate in a way that shows your top values!
